Resting at Camp Nana’s!

Camp Nana's February 18th, 2009Dear Mom and Dad,

Today I get to laze around after my VACCINATION day… I am feeling great.   I do not have a fever, or any side effects from the medicines, but I am very happy just hangin out here at Camp Nana’s.   Hey, make sure you tell cousin Cody I miss him, Hi Aunt Sam, and to my Mimi & Grandpa Richard, as well as all the California gang, I hope they will visit my site, while we are so far apart, and I hope it helps everyone who misses me, PRINCESS, get through these next weeks.

Hey mom, I have  one thing to say about MICHIGANIANS, or MICHIGANDERS,  Do you know why this state is shaped like a mitten?  It’s not so you can point on your hand to show someone where you are from, its to remind you that  if you are going to visit here in winter, you better have a pair of darn mittens.  My little fingers can get cold so easy.    Ha!   The house is nice and warm, however the outdoors leaves something to be desired.   No wonder Great Grandma and Great Papa spend this time in the south….

Rumor has it, I will be having a date with Great Papa Alan this week.   I am excitied to see him.   Today Great Grandma Sally called me too.   I feel lucky.   Lots of love here to be sure, but I dream about you and dad.   I took a great nap this afternoon.   So Nana put up these new pictures, we won’t know for a few days how I will do on the new formula.  Nana said you wanted to know the name of it, and it is Enfamil, Nutramigen Lipil a Hypoallergenic Infant Formula.  It tastes good and I don’t seem to notice any diffence when I get a feeding.   The doc says at least three days to a week before we know.   Hope your day was great, and that my letters help you remember how much I love you, and how great it will be when we are back together again.

Love and kisses,

Little Miss Adorable, your daughter

See my happy face!With a happy face…

I can’t wait until bath time later tonight.   I love taking a bath!

My Mom and I both visit the doctor…I was so brave.

At my first pediatrician visit!Dear Mom and Dad,  Well this was a big day.   My Michigan pediatrician and I met for the first time.  He was very nice, and very gentle.   Nana says he has been taking care of little princess’ for 30 years and it shows cause he was sooooo good.   He has all kinds of helpers, and I once again was waited on hand and foot.  I also got weighed today.   I am 10lbs. 12oz. and he says to tell you what a good job you have done with me these past ten weeks.  I am growing and doing so good.   He says my heart sounds good and I will see the pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Hospital in the next weeks to confirm all the same things we already know… which is I am awesome!

I think getting weighed was the best part of the day since I GOT TO BE NAKED, no diaper even…so I was smiling.   The sad part is, that fun did in fact come to an end, as I had to get five immunizations. (FIVE, YIKES!).   Thankfully one was oral, and I was able to drink it.   The nurse says that many babies cannot do this easily they have trouble swallowing, but not me… I WAS A ROCK STAR… and Aunt Arri took a picture to prove it with Nana’s cell phone.  You can’t really see it, but I took special care to wear my tee shirt that says mommy love me, and I think Nana was willing to try and put me into two of them just to have one that said Daddy loves me, but wisely decided to forgo that idea since she once again had me bundled up like an Eskimo baby… and two tee shirts may have made me melt.

I will not lie, I don’t like shots… and yes, there were a few tears, but they were brief.   Nana says that I am brave as mom and dad.  The doc also says it is time to try a new formula so I can do something about the little “tummy” issues I’ve been having.  Nana got the new stuff on the way home and I have eaten it twice… it is even better than my other formula.. and I hope it does the trick.   It will be a few days before we know.

Me at the Pediatrician

You and I both had appointments mom, and I hope yours went good.  I need you to take really good care of yourself so Nana doesn’t worry about you and we can be together again soon.    I love you both very much, and you two would be sooooo proud of your princess… I ‘AM’ ARMY strong….

Love always,

Guillianna

Monday in Michigan!

guilliannablog1Dear Mom and Dad,  I am doing so good.  You would both be so proud.  Thank you mom for making me feel so much better before my trip.   The butt paste you used, made my little princess bottom all better!  My tummy seems so much better.  I did not get sick today, and at at every feeding I ate all of my formula.   Nana says she doesn’t mind my baby burp breath either.  She says she is going  to bottle it, and save it just for dad cause daddy knows his princess always smells like roses!

I heard dad finally made it to his destination today for training.  I sent him a text message this morning to say good bye and reminded him to fly safe cause we all have a date in a few weeks to see each other… and he sent me a text back.

After we got cleaned up this morning, I was dressed, as  all princess’ are on a daily basis …I LOOKED….Hmmm let’s see…. adorable, in a beautiful shade of red, and an awesome shade of pink (I know that comes as a surprise) But these Valentine colors truly accentuated my inner princess beauty.    See for yourself…and just to prove that I am okay, and you CAN KNOW I AM BEING TAKEN CARE OF IN MY USUAL PRINCESS STYLE, I HAVE A SMILE!

I went with Nana today for an appointment with her specialist for her “nana stuff”, and yes, the doctor and nurses were aware of my presence, and I was treated like royalty…..ha ha!   Should that come as a surprise..?   Because Nana flew to pick me up she had to go for a check up, and everything was fine.   Her doctor and his nurses are nice.  After we came back home, I ate… I slept and now… it is bathtime.   I am so excited because Nana has the same soap mom uses and she told me that Mom told her everything even about how much I love to go naked…  but something tells me, Nana will do the whole bath thing, but, the naked thing around these NORTHERN PARTS, well that could make my little princess nose freeze….   I plan on sleeping good tonight, because yes, I do have the BIG day tomorrow.   I am told my pediatrician is awesome, and nice, and gentle and kind, and very experienced.   Nana has all moms questions for him to answer.   AND JUST LIKE ME, MY MOM HAS A BIG DAY TOMORROW TOO, and we will both be going for important appointments.   I plan on calling you the minute we are done … and we will see how your appointment went.

Hoping you both have a great night, I am off to be bathed, and soothed into a peaceful sleep too…   I love you both, and will let you know all about my visit to the doctor tomorrow.     Oh…. and Nana has sent you a copy of the photo of you, dad and I that she took before I came to Michigan, just like you asked her to.    Reeeeeally though someone needs to tell Nana to back away from the camera….she is crazy with that thing…

Nite… for now… your Little Miss Adorable…. Gullianna!

P.S.

Remember you told Nana about how I wiggle and slide around a lot now… I showed her today… look at me…

Hey where is my hat?

P.S.S.

SO….. after I wrote you, I had an episode. While still remaining a princess, I showed Nana my ability to REALLY  let my voice be heard….. and now she too finally sees how awful my tummy feels after the formula makes me scream like I have been doing with you for so many weeks… she says it is a good thing we are seeing the doctor tomorrow and is sure he will help my tummy.   I will let you know…  by the way… the tummy pain has passed, but…. I may be looking at a change in my diet…. REAL SOON….    Love you bunches… Guillianna

Sunday February 15th… Travel day!

Does it get any better than this?Dear Mom and Dad, I tried to get to this letter before midnight, but with all my travels, I didn’t quite make it.   I am safely in Michigan.  Crazy huh… this morning I was a Texan, for lunch I was Georgian, and now… the people here say “MICHIGANDER”…. or if you can believe it, a “Michiganian” .  Don’t you believe that for a second… you guys know I am just plain  PRINCESS.     I slept from Fort Hood all the way to Altanta… (like a baby ha ha) and everyone on the plane did in fact recognize me as a Princess….  had a good lunch and was off on another plane.   This time, I sat up and we watched television, and looked around the entire trip…. and you know what I didn’t even cry once…. partially because, I am so awesome, and also because if I even started to remind everyone just who the princess is… Pops got up and we walked around showing my cute self off… next thing you know I was in the land of  COLD.     Wow…. let me just tell you… it was a bit chilly in Michigan but mom prepared me well and I had everything I needed.

So I am sending you this love letter today to say don’t be scared dad, I know you too have a big trip planned today.   As a matter of fact you will be leaving soon and I wanted to say have a safe trip and remember I love you.   Chances are, you won’t need a snow suit where you are going, but,  if you do, I would lend you mine…. beware however it is not designed for the open roamy style I usually love…  those things are not designed for agility.   Tell mom that that loving to be naked thing, I usually love… well it may have to be on hold for a while here cause it is COLD here and Nana has me bundled up like an Eskimo…

I am doing good, and I miss you both… very much… will write more soon, going to rest a while before I start my first full day in the north… send hugs and kisses to mom, and Aunt Sam and Cody, and my California grandparents… I promise to keep in touch and let you know what is shakin’ in Michigan.   I am loving all of you,

Little Miss Adorable, your daughter
