Dear Mom and Dad…

Nana says, mom used to have something hanging in her bedroom as a little girl that said, mom’s hold the hand of a child for just a short while, but their hearts forever!

My love letter on this Valentines Day is sent to say how much I love my mom and dad. Now mom, you see what Nana meant don’t you. Nana says you know now, how much a parent loves a child. Lucky for me, I am only 2 months old, we can hold hands for years and years… but what is really nice to know is that I am in your heart always.

After all, I am pretty adorable!

Today is a day for love…. and so today I am sending you this letter to say, THANK YOU, for giving me life and for all that is yet to come for us as a family. I wish you and dad to have love and happiness today and always…

Dreaming of Mom, Dad and Formula!

Dreaming about Mom & Dad Dear Mom and Dad,

Tomorrow is February 14th, and I know you are getting me ready to travel. Thank you for keeping me organized…. I can bearly handle eating and sleeping let alone everything you guys do… On Sunday February 15th, I leave for my Michigan adventure. Dad and I are both going to be traveling – he for his work, and me to hang with my Aunts, Uncle, and Michigan Grandparents, till both Mom and Dad finish a big important job they have to do.

Saturday will be my first Valentines day, and for a girl who usually loves pink…. the color of the day I am told is RED, which is still cool, I look cute in RED too…. Mom got me my first Valentines Day outfit, and we have a mommy and daughter date with Dad tomorrow night so that we can spend some time together. Geez..I hope I don’t spit up on them! (acceptable and even “cute” for a girl my age – not so attractive if your a big person on a date) I know that if I do spit up, they are cool with it… sometimes ‘stuff” like that happens… and they don’t mind my Similac breath.

Hugs and kisses to both of you Mom and Dad… I hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day…I know we will make it full of love oh, and I have also heard, (even though to young to know) everything is better with CHOCOLATE!

Personally I find everything better when I am held in loving arms…. I am also told this fact never changes, we always like being LOVED…

This is my new website. I will be sending you love letters to let you know how I am doing, and what is happening with me while you are both working so hard to make my princess dreams come true…. I hope you visit often, and if you can send me love letters back!

Little Miss Guillianna

This site was originally written when Guillilanna was born. During her parents deployment and training, we would keep Guillianna in the Mitten. Then Elijah was born and he too was a frequent flyer to the Mitten. They lived with us on and off for nine years. Over the last deployment to Korea and during the past three years where in the kids lived with us for three consecutive years, the internet and this site was not really used to communicate with their parents, FACETIME was quick and easy. Their dad recently got out of the Army and they were relocated. We have not seen or talked with Eli or Guillianna for months. Last we saw them on FaceTime was May 2018. Last we held them December 2017, just after Christmas. Yet the reality is THIS IS NOT ABOUT just OUR BROKEN HEARTS- it is about theirs, ours and our entire family! for these kids who are so small and innocent, they have had a major change in thier lives. It is our hope that the journaling of our time together, and the and the new love letters for them will one day allow them to truly know the depth of love we ALL here in the Mitten have for them.

This site is also a special gift for our daughter, it documents all kinds of small details and images for her to keep, love and enjoy! These memories encompass nine and six years of the lives of her children! A true gift, that one day she may actually appreciate and have gratitude for. She doesn’t think of us as her parents at present, but maybe in the future, she will sit and reflect on all these memories, maybe she will see the love and dedication that she herself was given because of our love for her. If not, this journal, can hopefully one day allow Guillianna and Elijah to see and feel the truth, the love, and they will realize the amazing impact they have had on all of us here in the Mitten, and they will feel the love of all those who they spent their lives with, before embarking on the new journey they have begun. Friends, family alike have shared in nearly a decade of thier lives and all wish for the family to be happy. If it is a parents right and philosophy to “cut people out of your life like a kindergartener cuts out paper snowflakes” and raise their children to feel the same, this new set of love letters are written with the hope that in time the innocent will feel the love they HAVE always had, and the love they can ALWAYS carry it with them.
