I Made My Nana Cry Today :-) Again with the ‘Tears of JOY’ thingy?

Dear Mom and Dad,

So today, either one of a couple different things happened here.   Either Nana is “sappy”  –  a definite maybe.

Or I am just so adorable… so cute and so sweet that I can make a grown woman like Nana cry “TEARS OF JOY”.

For some reason… and after many different love letters having mentioned this whole “grown ups cry when happy (and sad)… babies cry when sad” thingy, and when exactly this transition takes place in life pops up yet again…

There I was just hangin’ with Nana… she had been slow as a snail lately and well, not to brag… I may not be at full speed yet, but I can take her hands down any day.   She was sitting down in the rocking chair in the family room.  I stood in my cute little Gugu stance with the table in front of me, and the couch behind me.  She sat observing me… while I watch a DVD Aunt Arrianna made for me.  It is called THE GUGE SPECIAL… it is a compilation of all the musical theme songs I love from different shows on Sprout, or Nick Jr.  some songs from Jack’s Big Music Show that Laurie Berkner sings, the Pajanimals, Sid the Science Kid and Super Why from PBS, and one very special track with a Mr. Patrick Swayze that I love and Greased Lightning with a very young Mr. Travolta.   Yep …. wierd assortment I know… but I am a fan of anything that has a beat!   IT’S TRUE!

So as I stood there… Nana saw me dancing.  Yep, I sway side to side, hugging myself… and dance now.    Now let’s just face it, I am cute, true, and adorable, beyond words, but I am not DANCING WITH THE STARS MATERIAL, I haven’t any amazing moves, or anything… but this woman looked at me like I was some kind of STAR!  She claims…  she couldn’t help but notice how much I have grown, that my CUTENESS QUOTIENT was enumerated beyond measure!  And that in that moment….the reality bomb dropped, she fully absorbed just how quickly for her our time has passed and how much she will miss all this ‘adorableness’!   Yes, it is true, I have given her sleepless nights, teethed, worried her and tried to make her happy  – to see me go, I tried to wear her out, and remind her that us babies are a  “butt” load of work and a huge challenge….. but Nana slipped up…and I saw… she not just a ‘NO FUN NANA’, tough to the core, she is just another –  a big ole sap… who knows the truth is she has been mighty lucky to be spending time with someone as awesome as me!   She sat with reality pounding upon her heart like a jack hammer… I am going home really soon…and yes she is so happy FOR MOM AND DAD TO SEE ME DANCE  – AND HOPING THAT BOTH OF YOU KNOW ALL THE INGREDIENTS CAMP NANA HAS PUT INTO MY GUGE – A – RIFFIC  HEART.   It is full of laughter, love, and curiosity AND A MILLION OTHER WONDERFUL THINGS!  My time here has been well spent, even if  IT IS the hardest thing ever for THE TWO OF you… I stood there today, a little toddler, swaying to the music, smiling and laughing… and Nana saw in me… your future.   She saw you and daddy dancing with me.  She saw you observing me in the months and days ahead, and then it came…  YEP, like Niagara Falls!   Not that I have been but hear, there is plenty of mistiness and water flowing… just like with Nana today, from both eyes!    She does not know where a year has gone, while you have counted the days the moments until we would be together again, Nana AND ALL THE CAMPERS have had the most outstanding little SPIRIT STICK a hug away!

She has been working so hard on the book of love letters for you and Daddy, and could not help but notice, that in November, I was just barely able to crawl.   Now I am a dancing diva!   I had a great day Mom and Dad and it is nice to know that being a part of the lives of your sisters and brother, (my awesome Aunts, and my only Uncle!)  really meant so much to them all.  Especially the old sappy slow one… whose days lately are full of tons of not so pleasant things.  Nana says she will be happy… and I belong at “the HOOD” with mom”o” and daddy”o”… ASAP, that seeing us together will only BRING HER…. you guessed it  TEARS OF JOY!  (geez… again with that)    Nana is working it all out in her head… but her heart… it’ll be ‘a breakin’  and let’s just say, I bet, all the readers of my love letters to you and dad over this past year,  WORLD WIDE, will hear it when I go.    Nana hopes one day, when I am big, like mom… that I read this letter and I know… she, Poppy and all the campers LOVED MY DAYS AT CAMP, and LOVED ME more than any words Nana could ever help me write!

On a lighter note, let me also tell you I have mastered yet another amazing skill… I CAN SAY NO.  Now I do not shout it meanly or raise my voice – no I don’t even really say it…

I just do like Nana… I lift my index finger up and shake it side to side when I want to say NO !   I say no to the dogs, I tell everyone NO whenever I want to!   New trick for the day… how to say no… and have ALL THE GROWN UPS FOLLOW MY PRINCESS ORDERS!  Hee hee… it works too.   You and daddy are gonna have fun with that!

Until tomorrow Mom and Dad, please know I am your Little Miss Adorable, your daughter, (all ready for you, full of all the love and dedication the MITTEN STATE has had to offer)

Guillianna!
